January, 2018
There is some news about this month’s Second Sunday Series performance. Yes, it will be on January 14, the second Sunday of the month. Yes, it will be at 2:00. Yes, it will be at Englewood Christian Church, 511 N 44th Ave. But, no, trombonist John Neurohr will not be able to play for us. So YES, our artist will be David McLemore, tuba instructor at Central Washington University. David has been working on a recital program to be presented at the U.S. Army Band's Tuba-Euphonium Workshop in Washington D.C. early next month, so he welcomes an opportunity to play his program for you in preparation for that trip. You are familiar with David’s playing because you have heard him in the Stan Kenton Christmas Band and in the Yakima Symphony Orchestra. You can explore his credential at http://www.cwu.edu/music/ This will be the fourth tuba player we will have presented on the Second Sunday Series, and all of them have been remarkably well received. We hope you are able to take advantage of this remarkable opportunity to hear a great tuba player.
Englewood Christian Church is at the corner of Englewood and N 44th Avenues in Yakima. This series is underwritten by Jane and Roger Finch. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted. |
