We usually refer to the Second Sunday Series as our classical chamber music series, but of course there is one concert each season that stretches the word “classical”. Our December program isn’t a “classical” period concert so much as it is a “classic” Stan Kenton Big Band JAZZ Christmas concert, and it is time to go back into the archives and rediscover these jazz Christmas carols. On December 1 at 2:00 at Englewood Christian Church, we will present a Big Band JAZZ Christmas, with carol arrangements by Stan Kenton and Sammy Nestico. We have presented this music for a number of years, and so you may have heard it before and remember what a great program it is. If you haven’t heard it before, you have a chance to enjoy it now.
