The Second Sunday Series
at Englewood Christian Church
Dear Music Friend,
September will mark the beginning of another season of the Second Sunday Series. On September 11 we will again this year present the winners of the Seattle Ladies’ Musical Club Frances Walton Competition. This winner this year is Trio Brillante.
Trio Brillante consists of three talented solo performers who have all attended USC Thornton School of Music. Micah Wright, clarinet, is an active freelancer in Los Angeles, performing in solo, chamber, and ensemble settings. He holds degrees from USC (DMA), Rice University (MM), and Drake University (BM). Annie Jacobs-Perkins, cello, is a junior at USC. She is the cellist in the Callisto Piano Trio, the youngest group ever to medal in the history of the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. In 2015 she appeared as a soloist on the NPR show “From the Top” with host Christopher O’Riley. Vijay Venkatesh, piano, is working on his BM at USC. He has performed with many orchestras, and won top prizes at a number of piano competitions, and as a 2008 Davidson Fellow, was honored with an award ceremony and reception at the U.S. Library of Congress.
They will be performing Brahms, Beethoven and Muczynski.
We have been presenting the winners of the Seattle Ladies’ Musical Club Competition for a number of years, and they have played uniformly high quality programs. While we have not heard this year’s performers, their credentials are jaw-dropping and we are expecting another fabulous afternoon.
Please mark your calendar for September 11th at 2:00 and make sure to bring some friends to hear this outstanding trio.
